About
We build the window.
Ether started because three people were spending a day a week reconciling numbers that should have agreed in the first place.
Position
Most teams do not have
a data problem. They have
an agreement problem.
The warehouse usually holds the right answer. What is missing is a shared definition, a visible owner, and a single place where the definition, the number and the action that follows from it all live together.
That is the whole product. Not more dashboards. Fewer arguments about which dashboard was right.
Principles
Three we will not trade.
- 01
A number with an owner
Every metric in Ether names the person who defined it and the date they last changed it. Numbers without an owner drift, and nobody notices until a board meeting.
- 02
Read, do not copy
We query your warehouse rather than duplicating it. A second copy is a second thing that can be wrong, and it always eventually is.
- 03
Say what you measured
Our latency figure is a p95 from event acknowledgement to query result. When we cannot measure something end to end we say which part we measured.
History
Five years, briefly.
- 2021
- Founded in Amsterdam by three people who had spent too long reconciling spreadsheets.
- 2022
- First hundred workspaces. The warehouse-native architecture replaces the original copy-and-sync design.
- 2024
- SOC 2 Type II. Scenario automation ships after eighteen months in private testing.
- 2026
- Two thousand four hundred workspaces across the EU and UK. Twenty six people, all remote.
